Apple Crisp

Friday, December 6, 2013

One of my all time favorite treats is Apple Crisp. Its simply amazing! I made it last year for a family get together and it was a huge hit. As soon as Michael and I are settled in our apartment I will be able to cook and bake all the things I love for the people I love. I really do miss cooking and baking. I miss the way my house would smell after I get done in the kitchen! I have been asked a few times for the recipe I use to make my Apple Crisp so I have finally decided to post the recipe. I did not come up with it. Its just the one I like best!!

Hopefully you enjoy it! Most people like to serve it with ice cream, however I don't care for ice cream so I eat it just how it is! I have to have it warm though!

Original recipe makes 1 9x13-inch pan

10 cups of all purpose apples, peeled, and sliced.
1 cup of white sugar
1 tablespoon of flour
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1\2 cup of water

1 cup of quick-cooking oats
1 cup of flour
1 cup of packed brown sugar
1\4 teaspoon baking powder
1\4 teaspoon baking soda
1\2 cup of butter, melted

Preheat over to 350
Place apples in a 9x13 pan. Mix the white sugar, 1 tablespoon flour, and ground cinnamon together, and sprinkle over apples. Pour water evenly over all apples.
Combine the oats, 1 cup of flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together. Crumble over apples.

Bake for about 45 minutes.  Enjoy!

I wish I could share a picture of what mine turns out like, but I haven't made it in a while. :(

I hope some  of you guys try out this amazing Apple Crisp! Its the perfect time of year for it!
